Don't you ever want to read a book after you watch a movie? or Do you ever watch the movie first and then you read the book?

Usually, more people tend to like the book better than the movie. Movies, most of the time change scenes from the books. I get mad when a movie changes something from the book. Some people feel disappointed in movies after reading the book first.

Sometimes people read books before they see the movie. If the movie is really good and people hear others talking about it, they get pulled into reading the book from the movie. Some people decide to read the book to a movie that has become really popular, before watching the movie. I feel like I have to rad a book before I watch the movie, because I like knowing what will happen in the movie. I also feel, that if you read a book before the movie, the book will provide you with more information. Therefore if you miss something in the movie, you know why it happens.


Others like reading the book after the movie. This is because some people think that watching the movie will not ruin the book. For example " the silver Lining Playbook," novel in my opinion was better than the movie. It really upsets me when a movie does not meet the book. I hate it when they cut out scenes, change them, or change the characters. This is one of the reasons why some people choose to watch the movie first. Another reason is that by watching a movie first, it provides the person with the plot. If they like it, then some choose to read the book.



 

Is technology taking over books?

About two years ago, I got a nook. I thought it was cool because I would be able to have different books in just one little apparatus. When I got my first book, I was in love with my nook. At first I thought I made reading easier and more fun. But when I got my second book, I started getting tired of my nook.  I didn't really like the fact that I could flip through pages fast. I also wanted to be able to hold a book physically.


Some people prefer nooks because they are more practical to carry around. There are people who are really good at using nooks. Therefore they know how to highlight things around the book or how to quick search something. People also like nooks because they can buy books for cheaper prices. They also don't have to go to Barnes and Nobles or the library to get a book. All they do is purchase the book through their nook and they get it within a second.





Nooks have become more popular, but will people start not using books?
Although nooks take less space around your house, school locker, or even work, I personally enjoy having my stack of books. I love that feeling when you go to the store and you purchase a book.

Wait...A new English Class?!

 

Last year when I was making my schedule for junior year, my guidance counselor told me that there was a new English class. The New English class was READERS' CHOICE. I had questions about what this class was because no one had ever took it in our school yet. Because it was the first year readers' choice was going to be introduced I decided to take it.

What is this class? Basically this class is like a book club. I was interested in taking this class because you get to chose book you want to read, not books teachers pick for you to read! This class has introduced me to so many books I've wanted to read. I also read a book that I never thought I was ever going to read. The book was the "DaVinci Code." I really liked the book, and i'm glad I can finally say "I read it." The good thing about this class is that you don't really write essays, but you do have lots of homework and projects. You MUST keep up to date because there are many class and group discussions. There is a lot of communication because the whole class talks about a book, or you share information about the book you've chose read.


I would highly recommend this class for seniors and junior next year because it's a fun class. Besides being able to chose your own books, it opens you up to try to read books out of your comfort zone, and you can end up liking the book. You'll read books  that you've never really thought about reading, but that interest you.
